Excerpt:
Vince came up behind me, his fingers playing silent notes along the spinal cord of my exposed back. Prickles of pleasure shot from the nerve roots, dispersing through my body like tiny rockets. I shivered under his touch.
His lips came to the back of my shoulder, and with a small sigh, I leaned back, coming to rest against his firm shoulder. Tender kisses sprinkled up my shoulder to the curve of my neck. His arm swung around my body, holding me close.
I didn’t fight this, any of it. My body was primed. After six years, I ached for a man’s touch, and Vince’s was expert.
His fingers stroked the rise of my breast, still loosely covered by the sheet, dipping into my cleavage, before continuing onto the next. I dared myself to let the sheet drop, to expose myself to him, to feel his guitar string–calloused fingers tease and tug at my sensitive nipple. My bikini bottom dampened at the thought.
“We should probably join the kids,” he whispered, his voice rough with need.
I nodded my agreement, because I’d lost the ability to vocalize. He released me from his hold, the air rushing in to cool my back now that I had lost his heat.
I forced myself to ignore the disappointment that I would never experience the art of Vince Davis’s lovemaking. Because based on the way he touched me, his was an art indeed.
